Haley Jovan Henscheid

Haley is a member of the Umoⁿhoⁿ (Omaha) Tribe, which translates to “against the current”—a guiding principle that reflects her career journey.
She brings a values-driven approach to working with tribes and Native nations, drawing on her experience in non-profits, travel and tourism, education, and entertainment. A passionate educator, joyful disruptor, and advocate for the development of Native communities — at the heart of her work is a belief in the brilliance of young people, the transformative power of storytelling, and the radical hope for a world wherein everyone has access to housing, community, and quality food.
Haley holds a Master’s in Education and Social Policy from New York University, along with a BBA in Business Management and a BA in Spanish from the University of Iowa. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she keeps busy traversing the boroughs by bike, pursuing any number of new hobbies with her ever-growing community of friends, playing sand volleyball, and retaining her title of “hostess with the mostess.”
